CYBERSECURITY @ DARTMOUTH! July 10 - 14, 2017...FREE!

The Institute for Security, Technology and Society (ISTS) at Dartmouth College is pleased to offer, once again, a free summer program exploring cybersecurity to area high school students. We appreciate your assistance in encouraging students to apply for this five day workshop, that will run July 10th through July 14th.

This year we are excited to have funding for this program from GenCyber, a partnership between the National Science Foundation and the National Security Agency to help young people learn about cybersecurity and how skills in that area can pay off for them in the future. With additional support from Dartmouth College, this community outreach program is offered at no charge to the students. Additional information about the GenCyber program can be found on the GenCyber website: https://www.gen-cyber.com

A 2015 news article noted that "By modest estimates, more than 209,000 cybersecurity jobs in the U.S. are unfilled, and postings are up 74 percent over the past five years  http://www.pbs.org/newshour/updates/college-struggle-keep-pace-need-cyber-soliders/. Understanding cyber security will be an advantage in any technical field.

Please note that applications, including a teacher recommendation, are due May 15, 2017.

More information, including links to the application materials, can also be found at: http://www.ists.dartmouth.edu/events/summercamp.html

If you, or a student, have any questions about the program, feel free to contact ISTS at info.ists@dartmouth.edu, or call 603.646.0700.
